Knockabout Bio

Knockabout knows how to make music to make an entrance. He perfectly blends elements of modern rock with pop sensibilities and orchestral elements that radiate an air of confidence. This project is all about experimenting with these different styles of music and layering them in a way that feels edgy and modern.

His song “Hearts Go Boom” is made for a major moment, “Life’s not a movie, no one here’s keeping score, your time’s precious give it all that you’ve got and more,” he sings over a driving melody, it’s the perfect lead-up before bursting into an anthemic chorus that feels like a freeing release, that “Tick, tick, tick, tick, boom” echoes the urgency in music, it’s effortlessly cool with an unstoppable swagger.

Knockabout explains, “This project’s goal was to inspire or uplift people in different ways, and I set out to make each song an extension of that idea. It’s a mix of celebrating life and seeing a future for yourself as well as being assured in who you are.”

It’s easy to see that self-assurance in the air of the music. Knockabout is inspired by movie soundtrack scores, and it’s easy to see how that style infuses his production. He knows when to find a dramatic moment.

In “Brighter,” striking pianos perfectly accent Knockabout’s dynamic vocals. The song builds and builds into a pulsating chorus that transports you to a dance party, accented by a bold horn section that adds to the vibrant vibe.

This project is made for pushing boundaries. He says, “I see this EP as a starting point of taking what I know with pop and introducing new ways to introduce it. I only see it pushing further as it begins to develop.”
